A garage slab takes vehicle weight, road salt and water dragged in all winter, so it gets a thicker section, reinforcement and a compacted base underneath. Edges are thickened where the walls will sit, and anchor placement is coordinated if you are building on top of it.
The floor is pitched gently towards the door so melt water runs out instead of standing, and the apron outside is formed to meet the driveway flush. New builds, replacements and slabs poured ahead of a garage kit are all part of the same job.
Garage Slabs
- Thickened edges where the walls bear
- Pitched to the door so meltwater drains out
- Apron formed flush with the driveway
